Our punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are buzzing today as it is claimed by the Daily Mirror that Manchester United are about to consider a £25 million swoop for Cesc Fabregas.
The Barcelona midfielder is of course well known to all of us here in the Premier League and given his role in ‘pizza gate’ he is not a stranger to the crowd at Old Trafford. Now it seems that new manager David Moyes is considering swooping for the player who of course was part of Arsenal’s side not so long ago.
Since making the dream move back to the Camp Nou, Cesc has struggled to impose himself on the side and concern has risen about his future. It is not exactly a failure to struggle to replace the likes of Xavi and Andres Iniesta at the club and despite his love for the Catalan side, Cesc is willing to make a move in order to gain first team football – especially with the 2014 World Cup coming up. The player knows it is vital to get first team football given the strength and depth in the Spanish side – nowhere more so than midfield.
Moyes for his part is a known admirer of the player and has been impressed when he has watched Fabregas both for Arsenal and Barcelona and feels he could be exactly what his new side are lacking. Barcelona will not take less than £25 million for Fabregas and given the money they paid for him that is not exactly a shocker.
Do you think Cesc will link up with fellow Arsenal traitor Robin van Persie? Rate this rumour below.
