There is major drama in the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon as The Express claim that Manchester United could be set for a double-exchange deal to land one of the tavern’s favourites midfielders.
The paper suggests that David Moyes could offer Nani and Antonio Valencia to Galatasaray as he attempts to sign Dutch international star Wesley Sneijder in the January transfer window.
Turkish souces indicate that the Old Trafford club will move again for the 29-year-old midfielder after failing to land the former Inter Milan man in the past under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
It was believed that the Red Devils were willing to offer around £12 million to land Sneijder, who is also being watched by Chelsea ahead of a possible bid from his former boss Jose Mourinho.
But now it seems that United will try to tempt the Istanbul side into a deal by including players instead of cash.
Newly-appointed Gala manager Roberto Mancini knows all about Nani and Valencia following his time in the Premier League with Manchester City and he could now be interested in bringing them with him to Turkey as he looks to add further width to his new side.
Moyes is understood to be ready to offload both players after they failed to shine this term and a swap deal for the creative Dutch ace could be the perfect transfer for United in January.
Here in the tavern, we will wait with baited breath but with some hope that we may yet see Wesley gracing the Premier League in the near future.
Will United finally get their hands on Sneijder and would they really sacrifice both Nani and Valencia? Let us know your thoughts below.
