Manchester United fans have smiles on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern for the first time in a while courtesy of talkSPORT.
The publication seem to think that David Moyes is readying himself for a £50 million summer spend – on England stars Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana.
Both currently play their trade for Southampton, and have been attracting interest from a few clubs this season – and as our punters note, given their form that is hardly shocking.
Landing the pair would certainly ensure a summer signal of intent from Moyes, who has been under a huge amount of pressure this season.
Southampton would be reluctant to allow their star duo to leave, but money talks in football and for a club like the Saints, £50 million is an incredibly huge amount.
Our punters in the tavern think the saints could probably push for slightly more given Liverpool and Chelsea are also keen on the young stars, and should both be on that plane to the World Cup for England, we think that this fact could push their market value up even further.
Quite if they would elect to join Manchester United however remains to be seen given the transitional state of the Red Devils.
Manchester United fans. Is £50 million far too much to spend on the Southampton pair? Would this money be better invested elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts below.
