Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern will be wary going into the summer transfer window after The Mirror revealed that Manchester United could spring a surprise move for Hugo Lloris.
Punters believe that the sweeper-style keeper will be a key figure in the upcoming window but it all stems on whether or not Real Madrid can land United’s current number one David De Gea.
Because if the Red Devils fail to keep hold of their Spaniard, they will look to replace him with Lloris.
Officials at United have been a fan of the Spurs keeper since his move to the Premier League from Lyon and it is expected that they will do everything in their power to land him.
Despite speculation, De Gea still has less than 18 months remaining on his United contract and to add further confusion to the situation, his agent Jorge Mendes has been making sure the words ‘David De Gea’ and ‘Real Madrid’ have been appearing in the same sentences.
If De Gea does leave, Louis van Gaal can turn to Victor Valdes who the Red Devils signed as a free agent in January but the Spanish stopper is yet to be seen in a competitive United fixture.
