Manchester United to use Welbeck as bargaining chip?

VidalThere are still Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern following the game against Sunderland.

But instead of talking about the football they are talking about transfer rumours with the club yet again linked to Juventus’ Arturo Vidal.

According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils have bid again but this time they have included a player to try and lower the transfer fee.

The bid is believed to be £32 million and it is understood that the player in question is either Javier Hernandez or Danny Welbeck.

Both strikers are behind Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in Louis van Gaal’s striking pecking order and it is thought that the club would be happy to let one of them leave.

But Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta meanwhile has insisted the midfield star is going nowhere this summer.

“We have no ongoing negotiations, nor have had requests the player to leave,” he said.

“Vidal has always said he wanted to stay here and we are more than happy to keep him.”
