There are beaming smiles from our Manchester United supporting contingent in the Football Transfer Tavern this morning after it was revealed in the Daily Star that former superstar Cristiano Ronaldo would be interested in rejoining the Red Devils after his time in Real Madrid comes to a close.
Ronaldo was an incredible competitor at Old Trafford but has seemingly scaled even further heights since his switch to Real Madrid and his goals to game ratio means he is rightly considered as one of the greatest footballers of all-time.
The Portuguese international has reportedly told a senior squad member at Manchester United that he would seriously consider any transfer proposition from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.
This news comes off the back of the recent talk that the Glazer family are willing to back Fergie in the transfer market this summer and the recently crowned Premier League champions have already made designs on next term by bringing Crystal Palace whizzkid Wilfried Zaha to Old Trafford.
Bringing Ronaldo back to United is certainly easier said than done however with a £65 million fee not the be all and end all. Ronaldo would command a massive wage packet and it also has to be regarded that signing him may be easier at the end of next season when his contract runs down.
