It’s been a tough season for Manchester United in the Premier League and the Red Devils supporters lining the bar here in the Tavern are hoping for a better effort next time out.
Going forward, it’s clear United need plenty of investment sooner rather than later and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured in the long-term, United need striking additions more than anything.
But there’s one man that has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks and that’s rising Monaco star Fabinho, who has been superb for the Ligue 1 title winners all season.
He’s a pacy, skilful and widely solid left-back who shone in Monaco’s league and cup triumphs this season.
But United’s hopes of securing a deal for his services have suffered a real setback after former Chelsea midfielder Deco, who now works with footballing super agent Jorge Mendes, suggested that a move to Italy is looking more likely.
“I know that Juventus want Fabinho, so we’ll see what happens after the Champions League final,” Deco told Goal.com.
“Clearly he likes the Bianconeri, as Juventus are a big club,” he added.
Juventus have been a real force in European football this season and they could be set to pull off one of the biggest nights in their history tonight as they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
But for United, this really does pour cold water on their hopes of bringing the Brazilian to Old Trafford this summer.
