Manchester United transfer ‘impossible’ next summer

Cristiano RonaldoMetro have Manchester United fans looking rather disappointed here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘impossible’.

The Real Madrid forward has been heavily linked with a return to Old Trafford recently but it seems that according to his agent at least, Ronaldo will not be moving any time soon and has his sights on a fair few records in La Liga before his boots finally get hung up.

His agent Jorge Mendes claimed: “Cristiano is very happy in Madrid. He’ll go on to beat all club records and he will retire there. He could play on until he is 40.

He continued: “He respects the Manchester United supporters who remember him, but there have been no offers because people know it’s impossible to take Cristiano out of Real Madrid.”

As our regulars note over a pint, not only would the Portuguese international forward cost a huge amount of money; he would also be a year older and may not even want to be involved in a project that would require so much work when Real Madrid are nearly the finished article.

Manchester United fans. Jorge Mendes says a transfer reunion won’t be taking place but do you think this story will run and run until next summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
