According to talkSPORT, Roma have confirmed they have no plans to sell their prized possession Kevin Strootman to the Red Devils.
The Dutch international has been sidelined with injury since last season and missed out on appearing in Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands World Cup squad.
Any move for Strootman could be considered a risk, as was their deadline day swoop for Radamel Falcao.
Despite his injury woes however, speculation surrounding the midfielder has grown and grown with Louis van Gaal looking keen to link up with Strootman after working with him during his time in charge of the national side.
Football Transfer Tavern regulars recall that United were preparing a January bid for Strootman but Roma’s general manager Mauro Baldissoni has told the Premier League side to forget about it.
“We can’t wait until Kevin is back on the pitch,” added Baldissoni.
“We miss him a lot, but he is getting closer to his return. We are proud that Kevin is part of our squad and he is not for sale.”
