Manchester United could still lose midfielder Paul Pogba, with Juventus reportedly plotting a massive £150m move for the French star.
Despite the English window slamming shut last week, the Italian transfer window is open until the start of September, and according to the Express, Juve are putting plans in place to raise the money to bring Pogba back to Turin.
Pogba has been at the centre of a huge amount of transfer talk throughout the summer after admitting it could be time for a new challenge, but United ultimately stood their ground and looked to have fended off interest.
However, it would appear that it’s not over in terms of United keeping hold of the Frenchman, as the Italian champions continue to circle and eye a move to bring the World Cup winner back to Italy.
Pogba was a fan favourite during his time with Juventus (fans called for his return during Matthijs de Ligt’s medical) previously and impressed on the pitch, scoring eight and setting up a further 12 goals in his final season with the club back in 2016.
Since moving back to Manchester United, though, he has come under fire from various individuals including Graeme Souness. Still, last season saw him top score for United with an impressive 13 Premier League goals and a further nine assists.
It would be surprising to see United sell Pogba given they can’t bring anyone in to replace him.
He was the Red Devils’ most productive player in terms of both goals and assists in the Premier League last season.
In the race for a top-four finish, losing him could really damage the chances of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.
Manchester United fans, can you see the club entertaining any offer for Pogba now that the transfer window in England is closed? Comment below!
