Manchester United would be wise to consider 19-year-old Celtic start as a summer recruit

The Manchester United supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are hopeful that their charges can finish the 2016/17 campaign with a flourish after a mightily frustrating season.

The Red Devils were expected to achieve big things this season when they plunged £150 million on players during last summer but it hasn’t quite gone to plan and the club faces a frantic chase to secure a Champions League place via the Premier League.

The summer cannot come soon enough for boss Jose Mourinho who will undoubtedly look to reshape his squad ahead of a title challenge during next season, his second in charge of the massive club.

One player who could sign for United during the summer is Isle of Man-born defender Kieran Tierney who has been in scintillating form for Celtic over the past year or so.

With doubts over the fitness of Luke Shaw, Mourinho could need reinforcements on the left-hand side of the back four and the teen sensation could be a useful addition to the United squad.

The Scotland international has made 37 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish giants this season and his performances have given a firm indication that he looks set to a move to one of European football’s true giants.

A couple of Manchester United fans are sat with a pint of Coke as they nurse killer hangovers here in the Tavern and they are of the belief that Tierney’s age and versatility would make him a shrewd summer signing for the club.

Manchester United fans, would you welcome the Celtic youngster to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
