There is some surprise among punters in the tavern this evening as Sky Sports reveal that Manchester United have had no interest from clubs looking to take Wilfried Zaha on loan, according to David Moyes.
Zaha was signed in a £15 million deal by former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson in what proved to be his final transfer activity at Old Trafford but the former Crystal Palace star has been constantly overlooked by new manager David Moyes
The England Under-21 international’s six minute cameo during United’s victory over Aston Villa on Sunday was only his fourth appearances this season and he has made only two starts since arriving at the club during the summer.
Therefore it was not a shock to see Moyes mooting a possible loan move for Zaha earlier this term, with a host of Premier League sides thought to be looking at the attacker as a short-term option.
However Moyes has now confirmed that there has been no interest from any possible suitors but he did concede that he would not be against the idea of the talented winger gaining more playing time away from Old Trafford.
“I did say to Wilf if I didn’t feel he was getting enough games, I would consider it,” Moyes said in quotes reported by MUTV.
“Obviously if we’ve got injuries or other reasons, I wouldn’t take it on board.
“But the truth is we haven’t had anybody phoning up and wanting to do that at the moment.
“While it’s like that, I am fine.”
