Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are really hoping that their side gets back into the Champions League for next season.
Indeed, they’re worried that if they miss out on the competition for another year players will start to turn a move to them down, even though it didn’t seem to bother the likes of Paul Pogba.
Certainly, then, United shouldn’t be too downcast over their transfer chances despite what could or could not happen, though it appears that their chase for Antoine Griezmann has hit a significant snag.
That, at least, is according to The Mirror, who think that the Frenchman is going to be offered a whopping £180,000-a-week deal by his current club Atletico Madrid to ensure he stays put.
The attacking star is a world class talent, of course, and would naturally improve United’s team if he was going to sign for them in the summer.
It looks as though the Red Devils will have to stump up some serious cash now, though, with this potential wage rise adding another £60,000 to Griezmann’s current deal.
