Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have had to endure a rollercoaster ride in the first-half of the season but are certainly on the rise, with the fans discussing the January rumours over a pint to start the week.
Whilst the Red Devils are likely to make the back pages consistently over the next month in regards to players who could be brought in to bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad, there’s plenty of potential exits from Old Trafford.
One of those likely to move away from Manchester is Dutch winger Memphis Depay, who has struggled to make an impression in the Premier League and has made just one start under Mourinho’s tenure, coming in the League Cup.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato are stating AC Milan have held talks with the Red Devils and are keen to secure his services, although the San Siro giants are keen on a loan move whilst United want to sell the winger outright.
The 22-year-old arrived in English football for a hefty price-tag and carrying a vast amount of expectation following impressive performances with PSV Eindhoven, but has struggled to impress in the Premier League.
However, our landlord believes United should definitely consider a loan deal as it’s clear that Depay has some talent and just needs to find his feet, suggesting Jose Mourinho may regret a permanent sale.
