The Jose Mourinho era is yet to fully convince the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern after a mixed start to the season.
Though the arrivals of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic brought huge levels of optimism back to Old Trafford, the stunning form of rival Man City has left the Red Devils somewhat concerned.
Still, the nature of their squad sees United remain contenders for the title, with so much still to play for.
However, they could be forced to do so without an Italian international.
The out of favour Matteo Darmian could reportedly seek a move away from the Theatre of Dreams, after struggling for form and fitness.
Signed from Torino last summer, the Azzurri ace has been dropped for Antonio Valencia in the right-back berth and is thought to be interesting teams in Serie A.
Now, as revealed by his agent, the 26-year-old could be forced into making a move during the New Year sales.
“We’ve got to see what United want to do. Italian clubs have tried [to sign him], but United closed the door immediately”, Fausto Pari told Radio CRC (via ESPN.)
“He’s playing little or nothing and it’s a shame because he’s an Italy international. If the situation doesn’t change by January, we’ll have to think of something. He risks also losing his place in the national team. ”
