What a difference a year makes. When Memphis Depay opted to sign for Manchester United over arch-rivals Liverpool last summer, the Dutchman sent himself into the hearts of the Old Trafford faithful.
Touted as a potential successor to the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo at the Theatre of Dreams, the burden of the Number 7 shirt appeared to weigh heavy on the 22-year old’s shoulders all season.
After a miserable season in Manchester following a £25m move from PSV Eindhoven, the Oranje star has been linked with moves away after dropping out of the side towards the end of the campaign.
However, it doesn’t appear to be all bad for the not-so-flying-Dutchman.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, BARCELONA are weighing up a move for the forward, should they fail to lure Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid.
With a frontline consisting of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar at the Camp Nou, the La Liga champions are understood to be chasing high quality backups for that attacking trident.
Should Man United stick with Depay, despite a poor season?
