‘Better than Messi’ – Man United fans on Twitter feeling happy for forward after club post

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a tweet posted by their club’s official Twitter account and praising 29-year-olf forward, Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez has struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford after his move from The Emirates in January but found some form as he set up Romelu Lukaku’s opener before scoring himself on Saturday as United beat Swansea 2-0.

The Chilean forward has been one of the best players in England since he joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014 but after a contract dispute with the Gunners, he made the move from London to Manchester. Sanchez was apart of a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go to Arsenal in the other direction. Whilst at the time it appeared United had got the better end of the deal, a number of poor performances from the Chilean had fans doubting his abilities, although his goal against Swansea was a step in the right direction as he looks his critics.

The fans at Old Trafford will be delighted to see that Sanchez was among the goals and they’ll be looking to him to build on his two goals in seven Premier League appearances for the Red Devils. On paper, Manchester United posses one of the deadliest front lines in England as Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are all capable of pulling goals from nowhere. However, under Mourinho, the club have looked devoid of attacking prowess at times this season as fans have been forced to struggle through games despite having such a strong free-scoring start to the season.

With that in mind, here’s the United fans’ verdict on Sanchez:
