Big rivals keen on Man United’s £10m rated 24-year-old

It’s not been an overly pleasant few weeks for the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern, having watched their side lose three games on the bounce.

A club of their stature is not used to that and the Red Devils propping up the bar have been fearing the problems that plagued both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal are once again prevalent.

So, reports from the Sun suggesting Jose Mourinho is ready to axe one of their stars, with Premier League rivals reportedly keen on him, have sent shockwaves throughout the United fans in this evening.

They claim the Portuguese is ready to put Phil Jones up for sale, as both Arsenal and Liverpool circle the 24-year-old.

Currently out injured, the England international has not played for the first-team since January and is understood to be valued at around £10m.

While injuries and failing to hold down a definite position have prevented the former Blackburn man from progressing, he was touted for great things by Sir Alex Ferguson.

That being said, both the Gunners and the Reds are believed to be keeping keen eyes over his situation at the Theatre of Dreams.

“Jose is looking to offload Jones. They have reached the end of the line with him”, said a club insider.

“He cannot stay fit and that is why United tried to sign Jose Fonte from Southampton in the summer.”

“Arsenal have asked about him in the past along with Chris Smalling, and they are keeping an eye on his situation.”

Can Jones still make it for both club and country? Let us know below…
