Speculation persists that Paul Pogba could be set to leave Manchester United when the January transfer window arrives.

Pogba has endured a difficult second spell in England after making a then-world record transfer back to Manchester United from Juventus. The France international has made more headlines off the field than on it in recent weeks, and reports continue to suggest that Pogba will seek a move away from Old Trafford. Barcelona are reportedly admirers of the Frenchman while Juventus could also look to bring him back to the Serie A.

Selling Pogba could prove to be a masterstroke for the Red Devils. While his marketability and brand potential is massive, the 25-year-old is failing to justify his enormous price tag on the field, and the constant speculation surrounding his future will be a detriment to the rest of the squad. It’s time United make a tough decision and cut their losses.

Offloading the midfielder could open up the possibility of landing Juventus superstar – Paulo Dybala. Valued at £99m by Transfermarkt, the Argentine has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world after joining Juve from Palermo back in 2015. Dybala was a key player for the Old Lady last season, netting 22 goals in just 26 starts, helping Juve retain their title under the challenge of Napoli.

Dybala can play right across the forward line or as the number ten, making him a useful option for Mourinho to have at his disposal. The Argentinean is a world-class finisher and has the ability to create chances out of nothing for himself or his team-mates. Landing a player of his calibre would help United compete with Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Losing Pogba to sign Dybala could prove to be one of the club’s best ever deals.
