Calls reportedly made in potentially massive Man United transfer news

Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are hoping to improve on last night’s bore draw with Spanish side Sevilla, as an away goal could potentially harm the Red Devils in the second-leg.

Indeed, Jose Mourinho has been heavily criticised for the role he’s played in the transfer activity at Old Trafford thus far, with our local Mancunians still waiting patiently for the elusive signing of a world star. Although, Paul Pogba was believed to have been the star player that United had been craving, but hasn’t lived up to expectations since rejoining the Red Devils. And, it looks as if this may have a knock-on effect on his future at the club, as according to reports from Sports Illustrated, Paul Pogba’s agent is trying to force a move away from Old Trafford.

Indeed, it’s well-known that Pogba and manager Jose Mourinho don’t share the best of relationships, with the substitution of the Frenchman against Newcastle only adding to the frustrations. And, sources with firsthand knowledge suggest that Pogba’s representative, Mino Raiola, has been calling other top European clubs this week to discuss the possibility of making a move for his client in the summer transfer window.

However, the calls made by Raiola didn’t exactly go to plan, as one of the clubs had pursued Pogba prior to his world-record transfer to Manchester United, and now feels like they dodged a bullet by missing out on the move.

Subsequently, after Mourinho’s decision to leave Paul Pogba out of the starting line-up for yesterday’s Champions League encounter, it appears that the 24-year-old’s days are numbered in Manchester. Although, the confusing fact of the matter for many of our local residents here in the Tavern is that the Red Devils chief is telling people that he likes Pogba, and has no interest in selling him this summer.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The Frenchman was one of the most exciting prospects in the whole of world football prior to his move to Manchester, but his performances are still yet to live up to the extortionate price paid for the midfielder. And, with the unhealthy relationship between Mourinho and Pogba becoming evident in the manager’s decision-making, it now looks as if this could be the end of the road for his career at Old Trafford.
