Manchester United fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can mount a title challenge next season, as the current campaign hasn't gone according to plan for the Red Devils.

Jose Mourinho has done his best to offer United the success that they've experienced in yesteryear, but many of our local Mancunians are less than satisfied with the way the current campaign has panned out. Indeed, one player who's been rather stagnant so far this season is Marouane Fellaini, with a move now looking likely in the summer, as according to reports in the Corriere dello Sport.it, Fellaini is interested in a switch to Italian side Roma.

It's understood that there has been in contact with the Italian giants' director of sport, Monchi, as the Manchester United player wants to make the move to Rome. Fellaini's deal expires in the summer, and his agent has already had some offers, as it appears that United will be waving goodbye to the midfielder at the end of the season.

Subsequently, the 30-year-old has lost his way in the United ranks this season, having managed to make just 16 appearances in all competitions for the Manchester club. And, many of our locals here in the Tavern are delighted about the news, after witnessing some less than convincing performances from the Belgian so far this season.

Landlord's Verdict:

Fellaini's interest in a move to Roma will delight the majority of United's fan-base, having been heavily critical of the midfielder throughout this season. Although, the Red Devils will be hoping to avoid a similar situation to the sale of Paul Pogba, as the Italian club has a reputation for turning undervalued players into big stars.
