The Man United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have cracked open the champagne over breakfast this morning whilst the staff are letting our sighs of relief as the biggest saga of the summer looks to be coming to a close.
The Sun are claiming that Man United’s record breaking deal to bring Juventus star, Paul Pogba back to the Premier League is finally done.
The tabloid say a ‘top source’ at the Italian champions has admitted that the “deal is done” and will cost the Red Devils a world record, £112m with £20m of that going to the French international’s super-agent, Mino Raiola.
The deal marks out quite possibly the most expensive mistake in footballing history as the 23-year-old returns to the club he left in 2012 for just £800,000.
The world’s most expensive player elect is still on holiday in America and posted a picture on Wednesday which caused excitement throughout the pub. The picture posted on his Instagram was all black and white aside from the red shoes and hat he was wearing, leaving United fans convinced that he was signalling he is returning to Old Trafford.
