It’s been a week to forget for Manchester City fans as they were eliminated from the Champions League by Liverpool and were denied the Premier League title by arch-rivals Manchester United at the Etihad.
Manchester City looked certain to lift the Premier League in the faces of rivals Manchester United last weekend following goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan.
However, a brace from Paul Pogba got the Red Devils level before Chris Smalling completed a miraculous comeback to delay City’s Premier League title celebrations.
After City players were heard mocking the United players in the dressing room following their 4-1 win over Tottenham, music was heard blasting from the Red Devils changing facilities after the full-time whistle was blown at the Etihad – according to the Sun.
Many City players had reportedly booked tables across Manchester to celebrate the title win and local lad Jesse Lingard found great pleasure in halting City’s title charge after clashing with Fernandinho during the game. City have lost their last three games following the defeat to United as well as back-to-back losses against Liverpool which saw them crash out of the Champions League.
Things do not get any easier for Pep Guardiola who will look to address their slide when they travel to Wembley to face in-form Tottenham on Saturday.
City fans, what do you make of the United players’ actions? Let us know!
