Euro giants aiming to replace global superstar with £36.6m Man United hero

Martial

So much of the summer has already been taken up by Jose Mourinho and his proposed move to Old Trafford, it’s easy for the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern to forget they are in serious risk of missing out on the Champions League.

With that in mind, it is risky business when it comes to keeping top talent at your club.

Whoever you are.

And we’re not talking about David De Gea.

Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with Manchester United in regards to working on a potential deal for superstar forward Antony Martial, according to French outlet L’Equipe

The 20-year old has been one of the few bright lights at the Theatre of Dreams this season after a blockbuster move from Monaco over the course of the summer.

While £36m, which could rise to £58m, initially appeared to be ridiculously expensive, the Frenchman has gone on to become one of the most exciting prospects in European football.

He has scored 17 goals in all competitions and added a further 8 assists in his first year as a Premier League player.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaving the French capital, the Ligue 1 champions are reportedlylining up marquee replacements for the superstar Swede this summer.

Boss Laurent Blanc is said to be looking for a forward who can operate on the left of an attacking trident, with Edinson Cavani moving into the middle of the frontline.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have both linked, though the report claims Les Parisians have made enquires over Martial in an effort to bring him back to France.

Will Martial be a Manchester United player for years to come?
