The World Cup winner has been excluded from the first-team squad and looks hugely unlikely to ever play for the club again, though did state over the summer they would be his club in Europe.
Still, the wealthy Chinese owners at the San Siro are thought to be aiming to convince the 32-year-old to make the move to the Rossoneri as they look to restore former glories.
They are understood to want to bring in an experienced midfielder in order to aid their European push during the New Year sales.
