Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are excited about how this season is going to go with them aiming for the Premier League title.
The men from Old Trafford have had a good summer with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic arriving and now Jose Mourinho will be hoping they and the squad from last year fuse into a cohesive unit.
For sure, then, there is plenty of power and experience in their side at the moment but one man who might not have as much experience that still wants to leave his mark is Andreas Pereira.
The tricky attacking midfielder is highly-rated around the Red Devils’ fan-base and staff and many of our local United punters would like to see him play some games this season.
Indeed, that certainly seems to be his aim with him telling ESPN – via FourFourTwo – that he’s ready to play a part in United’s first-team duties.
“I just want to make sure that I can show everyone at the training ground and inside the stadium what I can do.
“I want to continue my development and find a way into the team.”
The Red Devils, then, could see the young Brazilian U23 international start playing more for the club if Jose Mourinho decides he is ready.
He’s certainly got illustrious competition to beat in the squad, though, so it remains to be seen what happens next.
The Red Devils are in fine shape going into the new season and Pereira will certainly be going some to get into the side.
He does have plenty of talent in his boots, though, and so it’s more than likely he’ll get a chance if players in his position start to go off of the boil.
