Though there’s so much to be excited about at Manchester United right now, with Jose Mourinho firmly installed as the club’s boss, there’s little doubt within the Transfer Tavern that this summer represents a huge one in the club’s history.
The Red Devils propping up the bar may well be dreaming with wide eyed wonderment over the notion of the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ restoring former glories, though it looks as if his appointment will come at a cost.
According to the Daily Mirror, club legend Ryan Giggs will leave Old Trafford after an illustrious 29-year career to take up a shock managerial role with Nottingham Forest.
The Welshman had been assistant manager to Louis van Gaal and even touted as a potential successor, though Mourinho’s monumental arrival at the Theatre of Dreams is thought to have put his position under threat.
A move to the City Ground is the first step in the 42-year old’s career as a main boss, with the Reds having been in need of a new manager since the departure of Dougie Freedman towards the end of the season.
Will Giggs one day manage Man United?
