Forget Perisic, a second Chelsea swoop would be perfect for Man United

The Manchester United fans talking to the barman here in the Transfer Tavern are jesting over getting the better of Chelsea this summer.

Last month Jose Mourinho’s side snatched Romelu Lukaku from under the noses of Chelsea with the Belgian striker set to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goals.

Lukaku, who netted 25 times for Everton last season has begun fulfilling the potential bestowed on him at Chelsea.

Mourinho’s side then irritated Blues fans further after luring Serbia international Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford.

And with United struggling to sign Inter’s Ivan Perisic, Willian presents another Chelsea player who may also want a switch to the Theatre of Dreams.

Willian was left hugely frustrated last season. Despite featuring in 34 games for Chelsea, the Brazilian started just 15 of those.

He is a proficient dribbler of the ball and the lack of minutes failed to stop a return of eight goals and two assists for the season.

After signing Lukaku, the Red Devils are seeking someone who excels in putting the ball in the box. Mourinho has already worked with Willian at Chelsea and should now launch a bid to re-sign the former winger, who is also competent from set-pieces.

United fans, we want to hear from you! Stranger things have happened. Would you take Willian at Old Trafford? Let us know in the comments…
