While the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern were happy with the second-half performance, their loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup last night was largely disappointing.
Dominated for swathes of the game, it’s clear the Red Devils are lacking that star power to compete with the best teams in Europe and one man who has been touted with a move from Los Blancos certainly provides that with abundance.
Indeed, Gareth Bale has been strongly linked with a blockbuster move to the Theatre of Dreams and Jose Mourinho recently suggested he’d be waiting for the 28-year-old if he wasn’t selected for yesterday’s game in Macedonia.
Well, he was.

Bale added to his impressive trophy collection with the Spanish giants last night and seemingly ended speculation about his future with the Champions League-holders, taking to Twitter to react to the win.
Posting a photo with his medal and celebrating the fact it was his THIRD, the former Tottenham Hotspur man is showing just how different two of the biggest clubs in the world are right now.
