Lost amid the big name signings, the more analytical punters in the Transfer Tavern have remembered that Jose Mourinho has actually got a coaching job to do at Manchester United.
Indicative of some of the great minds that frequent our halls then.
Well, while blockbuster transfer rumours are no doubt the headline hitters, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ must get the best out of a squad that has largely underperformed for a number of years.
One member of those squads being Adnan Januzaj of course.
The Belgian attacker emerged as a bright spark under David Moyes amid his dreadful tenure at the Theatre of Dreams, though his progress has stalled ever since.
According to the Sun, the 21-year old will meet his new boss for crunch talks this week and will inform the 53-year old of his desire to depart should he not feature in his first-team plans.
He spent some time on loan with Borussia Dortmund last term, though was sent back to Old Trafford after a torrid time in the Bundesliga.
While the Red Devils are understood to be eager to loan him out to another English side, it appears the playmaker is only willing to consider a permanent move.
“It seems like Adnan is way down the first-team playing order now, but he is really well liked by Jose who rates him highly”, said a United source.
Does Januzaj have a future with United?
