‘Give him a new contract’ – Man United fans on Twitter urge club to reward star after recent comments

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their 28-year-old midfielder, Ander Herrera. The Spaniard has claimed that he wants to keep adding to his 150 games for Manchester United so that when he retires he can say he played for the best club in England.

Herrera has shown his worth to Jose Mourinho over the last two seasons and has developed into one of the club’s best midfielders and first names on the teamsheet. The majority of United fans will agree that Herrera, when coupled with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in a midfield three, is one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League who would get into most other teams in Europe. The fiery midfielder has made 20 appearances in the league this season and has become a fan favourite owing to his passion and commitment when wearing the famous red of Manchester United.

The United fans propping our bar up all want to see the 28-year-old extend his stay at Old Trafford as they’ve urged the club to reach out to Herrera with a new contract offer. The midfielder has put in some memorable performances for the Red Devils, the most famous of which came last season when he marked Chelsea’s biggest threat, Eden hazard, out of the game and found the net himself in a 2-0 win over the Champions-to-be-Chelsea at Old Trafford. The United fans will be hoping their Spaniard continues his stay in Manchester and puts in more impressive displays like he did on that famous day last season.
