Global superstar makes incredible demand to sign for Man United

Zlatan IbrahimovicZlatan IbrahimovicThe Transfer Tavern is in shock today following reports from Sport Witness (via Corriere Dello Sport) that Manchester United are in talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding an outrageously expensive deal to bring him to Old Trafford.

While it is claimed that the Swedish forward is a target for former club AC Milan, it is highly unlikely the Rossonieri will be able to afford the sort of wages the 34-year old will command.

He is thought to have demanded a deal that equates to around £550,000 per week – almost double what he is currently on in the French capital.

Moves to China and the ambitious West Ham United have been mooted, though it is reportedly the Red Devils who have opened talks with his representatives.

Despite his ageing years, the former Barcelona forward has been in utterly sensational form this season for the Parisians.

He was the first player in Europe’s top 5 leagues to reach 30 goals this term, while he has also broken the club’s all-time scoring record.

Still, even without bonuses, the wages reported to have been requested would far exceed Wayne Rooney’s, who is currently the highest paid player and captain at the Theatre of Dreams.

Is Ibra worth that kind of money?
