Ahead of a ridiculously important Manchester derby, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been lamenting their bad luck with injuries.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo added to their woes recently after horrendous ACL ailments, tearing through Jose Mourinho’s squad ahead of a busy close to the campaign.
However, reports from ESPN have at least helped cheer some of the locals up somewhat. They claim Antonio Valencia is likely to return for Thursday’s clash at the Etihad, a huge boost to the Red Devils’ cause.
The Ecuadorian missed the weekend win away at Burnley after playing 120 minutes in the Europa League win over Anderlecht, though will reportedly be back for the short trip across Manchester.
Following a wonderfully solid season for United, this is wonderful news for the fans propping up the bar. With City boasting the likes of Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling in wide areas, Valencia’s return will be a huge boost.
