Good news for Man United fans with ‘growing expectancy’ club will secure forward deal

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are backing Romelu Lukau to plunder goals aplenty at Old Trafford following his £75m move earlier this summer.

One of the most prolific marksmen in the Premier League over the last few years, the Belgian international has been drafted in as the club’s new No.9, replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was released following a long-term injury.

Though many view Lukaku as the long-term heir to Ibra’s Old Trafford crown, reports from the Daily Telegraph have seriously excited our resident Red Devils. They claim there is a ‘growing expectancy’ that the superstar Swede could sign a short-term deal with the club and be back during the festive period.

The former PSG and Barcelona star is thought to have held discussions with both La Galaxy and Los Angeles FC, though he could make a stunning return to United, who he helped win the League Cup and Europa League last term.

He scored 28 goals in all competitions and the notion of him returning to don the famous red kit has the punters propping up our bar dreaming of their title chances next season.

Lukaku alone was reason enough to cheer. Lukaku AND Ibrahimovic together could be absolutely fearsome.

Landlord’s Verdict

If Ibrahimovic is still able to perform at the highest level, and it’s hard to bet against him, United would be mad not to explore the opportunity to bring him back.

A huge presence both on and off the pitch, the 35-year-old brings so much experience and winning mentality with him, invaluable qualities to a side looking to restore former glories.

Able to teach Lukaku and Marcus Rashford so much, Ibrahimovic back in red makes total sense.
