Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern over the weekend were taken back in time with a certain 20-year-old’s display.
Marcus Rashford’s form has gone from strength to strength since LVG gave him his Europa League debut two seasons ago. When Jose Mourinho took over the Old Trafford reigns, many of our punters believed that would be the end of a very short United career for Rashford, given Mourinho’s reputation of not giving youth a chance.
In all honesty, Rashford’s game has dramatically improved under the Portuguese boss and this season is in phenomenal form, alongside teammate Anthony Martial.
Now playing as an attacking winger instead of his preferred position up front, on Saturday against Crystal Palace, Rashford once again showed glimpses of United’s ex-number seven and one of the landlords’ favourite players Cristiano Ronaldo.
That rashford assist reminded me of Ronaldo back in the day

Many of the same qualities the young Ronaldo had and showed following his debut against Bolton back in 2003/04 season, Rashford is displaying as echoed by some of the Red Devils fans here in the Tavern.
Rashford right now reminds me of Ronaldo in the 2004/2005 season. Displays immense talent but inconsistent, sky is the limit.

If the talented teen can carry on this trajectory, he’ll be one of the top players in the world and Man United will have a winger that not only emulates the superb Portuguese maestro but United former great and legend George Best.
The sky is the limit for the young Manc and under Jose with the current crop of players around him, Rashford can only keep on improving according to our landlord.
Marcus Rashford runs and dribbles like a young Cristiano Ronaldo. He was phenomenal today.
