The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are largely delighted about life under Jose Mourinho.
Indeed, while things may not be perfect, our resident Red Devils are under the collective impression that the club is as its healthiest since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson way back in 2013.
Still, reports from the Sun have been met with at least some agreement by those propping up our bar today.
They claim the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ believes the Old Trafford faithful can do more to back the team after publicly criticising the crowd of late. Top brass behind the scenes at the Theatre of Dreams are understood to have started talks with the Premier League over the prospect of developing a safe standing area.
“Mourinho feels even more can be done to keep the atmosphere more consistent inside Old Trafford”, a United source is quoted as saying in the report.
“The club are looking at further ways to pump up the volume. It’s something the fans and we all want.
“It’s a huge ground and it’s about keeping everyone happy while enhancing the feel and atmosphere for everyone.”
That’d be a hugely popular notion amongst the United-mad punters in our bar, who are inclined to agree with Mourinho and hope the club’s upward trajectory can help create a better atmosphere.
The biggest stadium in the Premier League, United could be getting so much more out of the Theatre of Dreams.
However they decide to do it, the Red Devils desperately need to make the most out their arena, as they did under Ferguson.
