Huge boost as glittering Number 10 favours Man United move over Europe’s elite

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern who’ve become so used to missing out on top targets have today, at last, been handed a major boost.

The Red Devils propping up the bar have grown somewhat cynical after seeing big name targets move around Europe as Ed Woodward desperately chases far behind.

However, just as their hearts were turning cold, reports from ESPN came as a welcome tonic.

It is believed that Real Madrid superstar James Rodriguez would prefer a move to Old Trafford should he leave the Spanish capital this summer.

Undoubtedly one of the best players in the world on his day, the Colombian has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane.

By no means a bad player, the hero of the World Cup in 2014 has to deal with intense competition in the final third at Los Blancos.

Still, such is the stature of the 24-year old, he’s been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

While ousting Europe’s elite in any sort of race for a target is not currently United’s forte, the report claims the former Monaco star would favour a move to Old Trafford.

How much of a coup would James be for United? Could he win them the league?
