Ibra genius may swing transfer race into bad news for Man United

Though their attentions are firmly focused on winning the Europa League these days, it’s fair to say the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t best pleased about yesterday’s loss.

It’s not often over the years that Tottenham Hotspur have been far better than the Red Devils, so the United fans propping up the bar really could do with some cheering up.

So, reports from the Daily Mirror linking them with a move for one of Europe’s top strikers have gone down well. They claim the Old Trafford giants are ready to scout Malmo forward Pawel Cibick this summer.

The Swede is thought to have impressed Jose Mourinho of late and United will reportedly travel to the U21 European Championships this summer in order to run the rule over the 23-year-old.

Ajax, who will play United in the Europa League final, are also understood to be keen on the £7.5m-rated ace and are believed to have sent revered scout Steen Olsen to watch him and potentially take a lead in the race to sign him.

That’s the man who discovered a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a favourite amongst our United fans. If Cibick is anything like him, the Red Devils around the bar want him signed immediately.
