Image: Did Mourinho sell Man United’s version of Kante in January?

With N’Golo Kante continuing to impress for Chelsea as their tireless central midfielder, that type of player has become the latest request from fans supporting clubs all over the globe in the Transfer Tavern.

Able to dominate the middle of the park, much has been made about the Blues’ capture of the machine-like Frenchman and how it’s helped propel their title challenge.

So, the need for top clubs around the world to boast a player of such ability is becoming the latest fashion. Interestingly enough, Kante operates well alongside Manchester United’s record man, Paul Pogba, for the Les Blues national side and Jose Mourinho sure could do with someone to compliment him that way at club level.

But, did he have one? Over the course of the January transfer window, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ opted to sell another Frenchman – Morgan Schneiderlin – to Everton after barely using him at all.

Well, as revealed by Squawka, the former Southampton man has become a Kante-like presence in the engine room for the Toffees, making more passes and interceptions than anyone else in the Premier League since his first start on Merseyside.

Thoughts?
