Insider claims Manchester United will miss-out on prime target

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are cursing under their breath following the latest transfer reports.

The Daily Star quotes comments from Italian football specialist David Amoyal, who claims that Manchester United will miss out on the services of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic despite chasing the Croatian ace all summer.

Italian giants Inter Milan have refused to budge on their £45m asking price for the experienced winger and reportedly want Anthony Martial in return, both prices that Manchester United refuse to approve.

The 28-year-old was previous reported to be keen on a move to join the Premier League side but he now seems more likely to extend his stint at the San Siro, after impressing on the Serie A’s opening weekend this week.

Manchester United continue to be linked with top-class wingers heading into the final week of the transfer window and it seems unlikely that they’ll get a player through the door at this stage, though that can change in a flash.

Landlord’s Verdict

Ivan Perisic has been the man Manchester United have been crying out for ever since completing a deal for Romelu Lukaku, even whilst they chased Nemanja Matic, and missing out on the Croatian ace will be considered a major failure.

However, signing Perisic has never been a necessity for Manchester United and they already have the talent out wide that they need; Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford, all of whom can be crucial to Jose Mourinho’s side this season.
