Manchester United have their confidence back under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and may still have a slight chance at chasing a spot in the top four.
It will not be an easy task but with the Red Devils six points away from Chelsea, should their winning continue, they will be hopeful even if the chances are bleak.
The new boss has installed belief and confidence around the club as the players have begun to show the best of their ability.
Yet still, United’s biggest problem is in defence and that will not be solved unless they delve into the transfer market and sign some new players.
Someone with the talent now, as well as having a massive future ahead, is Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen and United must do all they can to beat the competition to sign him.
Andersen, who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt, is a player being watched this window, due to his brilliance on the pitch this season.
In 19 appearances for Sampdoria, Andersen has marshalled his defensive colleagues and contributed towards acquiring eight clean-sheets.
That is a good achievement for the 22-year-old and clubs are quickly stopping to notice how good the Dane is and will be in the future.
For Manchester United, he isn’t the finished article yet, granted. However, the club should notice his talent and realise they need to start building for the long term and with years ahead of him, his capture would epitomise exactly what the Red Devils are trying to do.
It will be a challenge to win over the Old Trafford faithful but with the feel-good factor that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has re-installed, Joachim Andersen could feel right at home.
