Kenny & Sir Alex Will Slug It Out For Gifted £20m Sao Paulo Hotshot

English heavyweights Manchester United are ready to battle it out with rivals Liverpool for the signature of £20 million Brazilian prodigy Lucas Rodrigues.

According to reports in Brazil, Liverpool are believed to have sent scouts to Brazil to watch the teenager in action. In addition Liverpool’s director of football Damien Comolli was at the Emirates stadium when Brazil beat Scotland 2-0 back in March and has had a close eye on him ever since.

While much of the talk has been on Neymar as the future of Brazil, Lucas Rodrigues is not too far behind. Lucas dubbed the new Kaka, was voted best midfielder in the 2011 South American Youth Championship. The Brazilian 19-year-old is a bright and exciting prospect and Sao Paulo will be desperately eager for the rumours to squander linking their star player with a move across the continent.

Liverpool do boast a number of South American players in their squad which could help be a significant factor in luring the talented youngster to Anfield. Liverpool currently lack that creative spark in midfield since Gerrard’s season has been hampered by injuries and Lucas could be the ideal answer to fix Liverpool’s problem. His skill and athleticism would be the perfect boost to help lift Liverpool and gets fans on the edge of their seats with anticipation.

Having recently signed a new contract with Sao Paulo up until 2016, it will take a substantial amount of money to prize the attacking midfielder to either Anfield or Old Trafford. It is believed that while much hype is currently on 19-year-old hotshot Lucas; consistently linking the player with a move away from Brazil, Liverpool may jump on the bandwagon and finally test Sao Paulo’s resilience with a lucrative £20 million offer in January.

Liverpool have shown that they are not scared of splashing the cash and despite investing heavily on midfielders this past summer, Lucas would be a great acquisition for the Anfield based club. They have been linked with a number of promising players with great potential recently but Liverpudlians will be praying for this one to actually be more than just a rumour.

It is believed that Spanish and Italian giants Real Madrid and A.C Milan are also keeping tabs on the Brazilian wonderkid.
