Manchester United seem so close but yet so far to be able to challenge for the top domestic trophies, even the Red Devils within the Transfer Tavern agree. This season has been the prime example of that as their campaign started so well but has since dropped off and Jose Mourinho could be facing the possibility of no trophies in his second season.
Many fans can’t quite put their finger on what the problem is but there is certainly some struggles at Manchester United right now. Our punters have formulated the idea that one problem that could be solved by a summer addition is the midfield role, having been so poorly occupied by a number of players this season. Nemanja Matic has been exceptional in the more defensive role but United are lacking a playing who can drive forward with the ball, assist his teammates and score his own wonder strikes.
A player capable of that is Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen, valued at £63.00 million on Transfermarkt. The Danish international has again been brilliant for Spurs this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting 10 in 38 appearances. Considering Tottenham managed to secure Eriksen for just £12 million back in 2013, the 26-year-old has smashed his potential and been a top player for Spurs ever since arriving from Ajax.
With the season nearing a close, United are separated by rivals and runaway leaders Man City by 16 points, a gap that could be closed immensely with the addition of Christian Eriksen. The Danish man really has everything, from skills to shooting ability, set-plays to good work-rate.
He is a player that Man United seriously have to spend the money on as Eriksen himself is a player starved of success but with him at Old Trafford, that could soon be amended.
