Leeds United: Angus Kinnear’s Peacocks update prompts fans reactions - Manchester United

Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear has dropped a number of important updates via the Yorkshire Evening Post, prompting lots of replies from the Peacocks’ fan base.

The club’s chief executive revealed the Whites have been in constant dialogue with football’s governing bodies, adding that “despite press reports of regional leagues and the premature curtailment of League’s One and Two everyone across the EFL, the Premier League and the FA and UEFA remains firm that the primary objective is to complete this season when it is safe to do so.”

question mark

Who was Leeds United's first £100k transfer signing?

At the moment, leagues all around the world are suspended due to the ongoing pandemic, with the EFL season on hold until further notice.

However, early indications suggest the Championship will resume at some point in the summer, and Leeds players have been put on ‘holiday‘ to keep them contracted to play throughout the coming months if needed.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are leading the race for Premier League promotion, as they sit at the top of the English second division, with a comfortable seven-point-gap over the playoff places.  Given the striking performances so far, many supporters will be desperate to return to Elland Road at the quickest opportunity.

Kinnear’s comments triggered discussions amongst the LUFC faithful on social media, with one fan tweeting the “club is in safe hands.”
