Major development as Man United and Arsenal receive £62m boost in playmaker chase

The Transfer Tavern really is at its finest when the punters propping up the bar wax poetic about the most blockbuster of rumours and reports in a state of wide eyed wonderment.

The summer transfer window is all about headline-grabbing big money moves to gear us up for the season ahead, and reports emanating out of Spain have got the locals in tonight chomping at the bit for more.

According El ConfidencialReal Madrid have informed James Rodriguez that he is free to leave the Spanish capital after a frustrating second season at the club.

The 24-year old has fallen out of favour this season under both Rafa Benitez and Zinedine Zidane and has been linked with big money moves to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Undoubtedly one of the most exciting attacking players in the world, the plethora of talent in the forward line with Los Blancos is proving hard for the Colombian to breach.

While he is reportedly currently surplus to requirements to the Santiago Bernabeu, the former Monaco playmaker is understood to be valued at around €80m (roughly £62m), having arrived two years ago for around £71m.

Will we see James Rodriguez in the Premier League next season? How good could he be?
