Sensational developments at Old Trafford yesterday had the Man United supporting punters in the Transfer Tavern dancing on the pool tables.
With Louis van Gaal sacked and Jose Mourinho almost certainly on the way, the Red Devils are now reportedly on the verge of securing another blockbuster deal that would go some way into restoring the winning feeling at the Theatre of Dreams.
According to the Daily Mirror, the club are set to confirm the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic within the next 48 hours after agreeing a one-year deal with the superstar Swede.
Speculation over his future has been rife for the past few months as it became apparent he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain after an illustrious four years in the French capital, with moves to Italy and the MLS mooted.
However, the report claims the 34-year old has come to an agreement with the club as they look to restore former glories following a difficult transition from the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
The former Barcelona and Juventus striker worked with the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ at Inter Milan in 2008 and the pair share a good relationship.
Would Ibrahimovic have a Cantona like effect on Man United for a year?
