Man United aiming to scupper Spurs deal for lethal forward, Mourinho keen on star

The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern so excited about their venture back into the Champions League are scouring the web for rumours and reports.

The more eagle eyed amongst them however, have been rocked following reports from Swiss website 20 Minutes, via the Sun, that Manchester United are ready to move in on their attempts to lure Basel forward Breel Embolo to England.

The 19-year old striker has been strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane after emerging as a hugely promising forward in his homeland, while RB Leipzig have also been linked.

New Red Devils chief Jose Mourinho is believed to retain an interest in the Swiss international, though it is unclear what his striking force will be with a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic strongly mooted.

Still, the success of Anthony Martial last summer could well prompt the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ into making a move for the Basel forward, who has won a number of titles in his homeland.

Does Mourinho really need another striker?
