Manchester City dealt arch rivals Manchester United a major blow by pipping them to the final Champions League spot, though the Citizens could yet deliver some good news to Old Trafford.
For that, the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern are perhaps being a little to grateful. Sarcastically of course, as they rub what could be one of the major transfers of the summer in their rivals’ noses.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, incoming Etihad chief Pep Guardiola has instructed the club to halt their chase of Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.
However, Guardiola is believed to have ended the chase from the blue half of Manchester and closed the proverbial door on the chances of seeing him arrive at City.
With that in mind, the Spaniard’s first major decision as City boss could spark a blockbuster Premier League chase for one the game’s biggest stars.
Where would James best fit in should he move to the Premier League? Man United? Arsenal? Chelsea?
