Man United and Arsenal on red alert as £10m midfielder rejects offer from Premier League rivals

Reece Oxford

Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern may be baying for big name arrivals to help the cause at Old Trafford, though they’ve grown relatively cynical at the chances of landing them.

Such is the nature of the proverbial transfer rumour mill, the Red Devils continue to be linked with a host of big names.

Obviously, they can’t land them all. Would be nice, for them at least, to land just a few though.

In stark contrast to the stellar names linked with Old Trafford moves, Sky Sports are claiming that West Ham youngster has rejected a new deal in East London.

The 17-year old is extremely highly rated and saw his stock rise meteorically thanks to a glorious opening day performance against Arsenal.

Far from the finished article, the reports have still sent the Red Devils in tonight into delight.

The talented teen is able to play in the holding midfield role, as well as slot into central defence, making him one of the most promising talents in England.

It is also claimed that a fee of around £10m would be needed in order to tempt the Hammers, though they have no intention of selling with his contract still having another two years to run.

United, Manchester City and the Gunners have all been linked with a move.

Is Oxford right to reject a new deal? Is he getting too big for his boots? Clearly a talent, but how far can he go in the game?
