Man United and Chelsea in colossal £54m battle for Euro 2016 winner

The Manchester United and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern who’ve been joking and jibing about Jose Mourinho’s move between the two share plenty of links amid the proverbial silly season. 

With both clubs titans of the Premier League, both Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge have been mooted as potential landing spots for a number of blockbuster targets in equal measure.

One of those is Portuguese international Andre Gomes, with Mundo Deportivo claiming the Red Devils and the Blues are in the race for the Valencia star.

Bids are said to have been snubbed by Los Che, who value the EURO 2016 winner at around €65m (equating to around £54m).

Barcelona and Real Madrid are understood to be running the rule over the 22-year old, who impressed during his country’s historic win in France.

Los Blancos are believed to be winning the race thus far, as the Red Devils in particular move in for Paul Pogba.
